NySaves
NySaves is a Clean Water Project envisioned and implemented by students at the Nysmith School in Herndon, VA through the non-profit charity, NySaves, Inc.
The purpose of NySaves is to provide DIRECT AID to students and their families in the sister town of Ruwa, Zimbabwe to provide clean water, mitigate the effects of the ongoing Cholera epidemic there, and provide educational support.
This summer, NySaves purchased, implemented and provided training regarding
100 household ceramic water filtration systems.  Several units were placed with municipal facilities providing services to children, with the rest going directly to the families.  In addition, NySaves raised the money necessary to complete the roof on an unfinished school building to permit students to move indoors for the rainy season.

Up next? Plans are in place to increase the numbers of filtration systems installed and a concept study is underway toward the construction of a first ever library.
